CARENA (the Abidjan’s Shipyard and industrial maintenance company) officially inaugurated its third dock on Wednesday 28th March 2018.

The third dock which has a larger reception capacity is 175 meter long and 26 meter large and is equipped with two cranes of 5.5 tons each and weighs 10 800 tons

According to Mr. Arnaud FEGER, Managing Director of CARENA, this equipment which cost 5 billion CFAF “will make it possible to have more space to handle larger vessels and receive new customers

The ceremony which took in place in the presence of Mr.DJE Kouamé  Daniel, Technical Advisor of the PAA’s Managing Director, of Mr. DIARRASSOUBA Tahirou, Secretary General of Abidjan Port Authority and several other Managers of the Abidjan Port Platform

It should be noted that the dock is a floating wharf which enables ships’ mechanics to lift ships up according to technics based on the principle of Archimedes pressure.
