THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY STRENGTHENS DIALOGUE WITH MAJOR NATIONAL CARGO OWNERS
Mr. Kassoum TRAORE, President of the Abidjan Port Community (CPA) and also Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), received, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, a delegation of major national cargo owners operating on the Abidjan port platform.
Led by Ms. Rose DON-MELLO, Executive Director of the Union of Large Industrial Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (UGECI), the meeting was part of the ongoing consultation between the Port Authority and the main users of the Abidjan port platform. It aimed to strengthen dialogue on issues relating to the competitiveness of the Port of Abidjan, the fluidity of the logistics chain and the improvement of the business environment.
The discussions provided an opportunity for representatives of major industrial companies to present their concerns, share their assessment of the challenges facing the logistics chain and put forward proposals aimed at sustainably improving the performance of the port platform. The development prospects of their activities were also examined, along with ways to strengthen the attractiveness of the Port of Abidjan in an increasingly competitive regional environment.
For his part, the President of the Abidjan Port Community welcomed this consultation initiative, describing it as constructive. He reaffirmed the Abidjan Port Authority’s willingness to maintaining ongoing dialogue with all CPA stakeholders in order to jointly identify solutions capable of improving the performance of the logistics chain.
Mr. Kassoum TRAORE also highlighted the strategic role played by major national cargo owners in driving trade and economic growth in Côte d’Ivoire. He reaffirmed the Abidjan Port Authority’s readiness to support initiatives undertaken by its partners that contribute to developing an increasingly high-performing, attractive and competitive port platform.
