PAA PARTICIPATES IN THE 42nd ANNUAL COUNCIL OF THE PORT MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION OF WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICA (PMAWCA)
The Administration of the Ports of Angola will host, from 15 to 18 November 2022, at the "Centro de Conferências de Belas" in Luanda, the 42nd Annual Council of the Port Management Association of West and Central Africa (PMAWCA).
The Abidjan Port Authority will take part in this meeting with a strong delegation led by the Director of the Digital Information System, Mr. Macky SANGARÉ.
This statutory meeting, very important for the development of the port sector in the West and Central African region is held around the main theme, "The Role of Ports in the Face of the Effects of Climate Change, " which will be the subject of exchanges during the round table of the Association's Managing Directors.
This theme, more than topical, will allow to review some environmental axes included in the charter of environmental sustainability concluded between PMAWCA and the World Bank. Among these axes are air quality, waste management, energy efficiency and coastal erosion.
In addition, the members of the enlarged Board of Directors of PMAWCA will meet to address issues inherent in the life of this regional association, to review the projects initiated and collect the necessary guidelines for its dynamism, in light of the challenges of the port sector in Africa.
Since its creation in 1972, with the Abidjan Port Authority as a founding member, PMAWCA, which now has about forty members, has been working to strengthen cooperation and the sharing of experiences on best practices in port management and operations, security and environmental protection.
