21st CENTURY INTERNATIONAL SILK ROAD EXHIBITION GUANGDONG, CHINA
The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Exhibition opened on Friday 02 June 2023 at the Guangzhou Fairs Import-Export Complex.
Sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), this international exhibition is an excellent showcase for economic operators to promote their products and services to a wide and diverse audience. It also enables the Silk Road countries to extend and strengthen their cooperation and exchanges.
In addition to the exhibition, a number of forums were held, including one on Saturday 3 June dedicated to the participating countries, during which each country was given the opportunity to present its economic, commercial, tourist and cultural potential. This joint trade fair was marked by the presence of Mrs Solange AMICHIA (Managing Director of CEPICI), Mr Hien Yacouba SIE (Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority) and Mr Amadou KONE (Minister of Transport).
This year, more than 1,000 exhibitors from 57 countries are taking part in this major economic and commercial event held on a dedicated venue of 50,000 m2.
Côte d'Ivoire, which is holding a pavilion, is represented by the Abidjan Port Authority, CEPICI, the Côte d'Ivoire Chamber of Commerce and Industry and several other Ivorian companies.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony, Mr Zhang SHENFENG, Vice-President of the Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stressed that the Expo had become a platform for regional cooperation, development and the exchange of opportunities.
He added that the event would definitely help to promote cooperation and exchanges between Guangdong province and the participating countries.
With over 680 billion Yuan (CNY) worth of goods traded last year, Guangdong is China's leading province in terms of trade, accounting for around 27.5% of China's exports.
