The Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, attended alongside the Minister of Infrastructure and Road Maintenance, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, the 17th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF), held from June 10 to 12, 2026, in Macao, China.

This flagship event brought together government officials, investors, public decision-makers, and experts from around the world to discuss issues related to the financing, innovation, and development of next-generation infrastructure.

On this occasion, the Managing Director of PAA held discussions with several leading industry players to explore cooperation opportunities and gain insights into best practices in port, logistics, and transport infrastructure development.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Ivorian delegation went on several technical tours, notably to the expansion project of Macao International Airport carried out by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), as well as the tramway network developed with the expertise of China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). These visits provided valuable exposure to innovative solutions in engineering, mobility, and infrastructure development.

The Managing Director of PAA also toured the forum’s exhibition area, where he discovered, at the stands of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and Huawei, the latest advancements in 3D modelling, smart construction, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and automated infrastructure management.

A working session with Huawei executives also provided an opportunity to explore cooperation prospects in the fields of digital transformation and smart infrastructure applied to the port and logistics sectors.

Through this mission, Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ was able to draw inspiration from successful infrastructure development models and identify partnership opportunities capable of supporting the modernization of the Port of Abidjan and strengthening its competitiveness.

Participation in the IIICF reflects the Managing Director determination to position the Port of Abidjan as a leading logistics platform in West Africa by leveraging innovation, digital transformation, and international best practices.
