CAPACITY BUILDING: AUDITORS OF THE 9TH NATIONAL GENDARMERIE STAFF COURSE IMMERSE THEMSELVES IN THE PORT OF ABIDJAN

The Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORÉ, received, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, a delegation of auditors from the 9th National Gendarmerie Staff Course (CEMG), led by Lieutenant Colonel Ardiouma KONÉ.

This visit forms part of the educational activities of CEMG, which annually organizes immersion visits for its trainees within public and private institutions that contribute to the country’s security, governance, and economic development.

The discussions enabled to present the strategic role of the Abidjan Port Authority in the national and sub-regional economy, the significant transformations resulting from its extensive modernization program, and the measures implemented to ensure the safety and security of port facilities in accordance with international standards.

On this occasion, the Managing Director of PAA commended the initiative, which offers future senior officers of the National Gendarmerie a better understanding of the challenges associated with managing a strategic infrastructure that serves as a key driver of economic competitiveness and national sovereignty.

Comprising twenty-one (21) trainees from several African countries, the delegation expressed strong interest in the Port of Abidjan’s experience in port governance, security, and regional cooperation.

The visit concluded with a tour of the main port facilities, including the Grain Terminal, the Fishing Terminal, and the Second Container Terminal (TC2). This immersion enabled the auditors to gain a better understanding of the operational realities of the Port of Abidjan, its state-of-the-art equipment, and the investments made to strengthen its competitiveness and support the development of trade in West Africa.
