MS NAUTICA ANCHORS AT THE ABIDJAN PORT
Once primarily considered a commercial port for cargo traffic, the Abidjan Port is now undergoing a strategic transformation, turning its focus toward passenger traffic as well.
Thanks to modernization work completed between 2012 and 2023, the Abidjan Port is increasingly attracting cruise ships. On June 3, it welcomed the MS Nautica, a luxury cruise ship flying the Marshall Islands flag and chartered by R-Logistic.
Coming from Takoradi in Ghana, this premium-class ship—measuring 181 meters in length, 25.46 meters in width, with a draft of 5.95 meters—docked with 991 passengers on board.
The cruisers had the opportunity to visit several Ivorian tourist sites, including the Saint Paul Cathedral in Plateau, Banco Forest, the Bingerville Botanical Garden, and the Abidjan City Artisan Center.
This stopover—the fifth of its kind since the beginning of the year—further strengthens Côte d’Ivoire’s position as a top cruise tourism destination in West Africa.
After Abidjan, the MS Nautica continued its journey toward the port of Dakar in Senegal.
