SOCIAL DIALOGUE: PAA MANAGING DIRECTOR MEETS WITH DOCKWORKERS’ REPRESENTATIVE ORGANIZATIONS

As part of his ongoing dialogue with stakeholders across the Abidjan Port Community (CPA), the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORE, received a delegation of dockworkers’ trade union organizations, represented by their respective umbrella bodies, on Monday, August 17, 2026.

The meeting, attended by the Secretary General of the Abidjan Port Community and members of the PAA Management Committee, provided an opportunity for dockworkers’ representatives to present their main concerns, particularly regarding working conditions and social protection.

The Managing Director commended the dockworkers’ commitment to preserving industrial peace within the port community, emphasizing the importance of their contribution to the continuity and performance of activities at Abidjan Port. He reaffirmed his availability and commitment to reviewing their concerns through constructive and ongoing dialogue.

Through this meeting, PAA reaffirmed its determination to maintain regular consultation with all stakeholders within the Abidjan Port Community, with a view to promoting a harmonious social climate and developing concerted solutions to the concerns raised by the various stakeholders.

The delegation comprised representatives of the National Federation of Dockworkers of Côte d’Ivoire (FENAD-CI), the Coordination of Dockworkers’ Trade Unions of Côte d’Ivoire (CSD-CI), the Union of Solidarity Dockworkers’ Trade Unions (USDS), the Group of Dockworkers’ Trade Unions for Renewal in Côte d’Ivoire (GSDR-CI), and the Federation of Dockworkers’ Trade Unions for Renewal (FSDR).
