PAA Celebrates the International Women’s Rights Day

The women of the Abidjan Port Authority gathered together on Tuesday 15 March 2022, in a festive and friendly atmosphere to commemorate the International Women’s Rights Day - a day celebrated every 8 March all over the world.

Mrs. OUATTARA Sarah Danielle, president of the Women Association of the Abidjan Port Authority (AFPAA) recalled in her welcoming address, the importance of that celebration and advocated with the Top Management for more empowerment of women in the sphere of responsibility of the company.

Following the president, was the sponsor of AFPAA, Mrs. MEITE Salimata Fofana, Human Resources Director of PAA. She congratulated and encouraged all the women in the name of Mr. Hien Yacouba SIE, Managing Director of PAA, for their great contribution to the achievement of corporate objectives.

Besides, she reassured them of the determination of the Managing Director to work on behalf of gender promotion. “It’s true that gender equality is a subject we talk every day, however, I would like to say that equality is a right fight, but when it is coupled with performance, it becomes better. Equality must no longer be an elite affair, but it must be widespread to all women through a daily and permanent work.” She declared before she exhorted her goddaughters to maintain excellency and a job well done for the Abidjan Port Authority.

In addition to these speakers, Mr. Abdou TOURE, Chairman of the Board of Directors, held a conference about the power of women in African traditions.

Let us observe that several Sector Directors were present at the ceremony, including Mr. ASSI Magloire, the Control, Auditing and Quality Director, representing the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority.
