EXCHANGE BETWEEN THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY AND THE CHAIRWOMEN OF THE NATIONAL CONSUMER COUNCIL
On Tuesday 05 April 2022, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIE, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority granted an audience to Mrs Manuella OLLO, Chairwoman of the National Consumer Council.
According to Mrs Ollo the meeting was intented to present to the Port Authority the missions of this new structure established officially in 2021.
Taking advantage of this visit, Mr Hien Yacouba SIE intervened in the matter of the high cost living by specifying that the general rise in the price of goods on the market was not due to the Port of Abidjan which tariffs have not increased for more than ten years now.
He particularly emphasized on several other factors affecting the final prices, namely the rise in the price of goods on the international level, the skyrocketing cost of sea freight as result of the covid-19 health crisis and the war in Ukraine.
Lastly, The Abidjan Port Authority’s Top Manager wanted to reassure the Ivorian consumers about his commitment in the fight against the high cost of living.
Mrs Manuella OLLO who really appreciated the information given her, expressed her thanks to the PAA’s Managing Director for the important role the Abidjan Port plays in fighting against the high cost of living.
