THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF THE PAA, SPONSOR OF THE CONTEST ''MISS MATHÉMATIQUE 2022''

The Mathematical Society of Côte d'Ivoire (SMCI), directed by the eminent and distinguished Professor Saliou TOURÉ, proceeded on 4 May 2022 in the premises of the Lycée Sainte Marie located in Cocody, to the official launching ceremony of the 16th edition of the Miss Mathematics contest.

This ceremony, placed under the chairmanship of the Minister of National Education and Literacy, Mrs. Mariatou KONE, represented for the occasion by her Director of Schools and Secondary Schools, (DELC), Mrs. BEUGRÉ Yao GNAMIEN, had as sponsor, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ.

This competition, which is part of the promotion of excellence in favor of young girls to encourage their interest in science and specifically in mathematics, aims at the emergence of new talents who could contribute to the revival of scientific research in our country and contribute significantly to its development. 

As he was aware of the major role that women play in society, the sponsor of the ceremony   described this initiative as salutary in that it allows young girls to have as a reference point cultured and hardworking people who could inspire them in their future professional choices.

Pleased that the PAA was associated with this ceremony, the sponsor of the 2022 edition of the Miss Mathematics contest made a commitment to support the SMCI for the next five (5) years in the organization of this contest.

It was therefore with words of encouragement to the young students of the Lycée Sainte Marie that the representative of the Minister of National Education and Literacy announced the official opening of this 16th edition.
