THE NEW AMBASSADOR OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN RECEIVED IN AUDIENCE BY THE PORT AUTHORITY

HEM. Amir Hossein NIKBIN, the new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was received by the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, on Tuesday 24 May 2022.

The Iranian diplomat said he came to pay a courtesy visit to the Port Authority following his appointment three months ago. He also pointed out that his mission in Côte d'Ivoire will focus on two main areas, namely the promotion of trade relationships between the two countries, and the development of cooperation in the scientific field, in view of the potentialities and capacities of Iran in this strategic sector.

In addition, the Ambassador expressed his country's willingness to work for the creation of a direct maritime line with Côte d'Ivoire to meet the needs of many Iranian economic operators interested in the Ivorian market.

Mr. Hien SIE welcomed this initiative and affirmed his commitment to support all the initiatives that the Iranian diplomat will take in the direction of improving cooperation between our two countries and particularly the development of maritime and port activities.
