COOPERATION: AN ETHIOPIAN STATE MINISTER GOT ACQUAINTED WITH THE ABIDJAN PORT’S OPERATIONS.
In conjunction with Africa CEO FORUM which took place on 13-14 June, 2022 and which was attended by several countries including the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, Dr ARKEBE Oqubay, State Minister and Special Advisor to the Ethiopian Prime Minister visited the facilities of Abidjan Port on Saturday 12 June, 2022. The visit was aimed at getting acquainted with the economic development potentials represented by the Abidjan port area.
Dr ARKEBE Oqubay was received by colonel COFFI YAO Emmanuel, Harbour Master of the port, Representing the Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) who expressed the willingness of the Port Authority to make Abidjan Port one the major element of cooperation relationship between Cote d’Ivoire and Ethiopia.
During the guided tour of the port facilities by boat through the water area, Mr MONI N’GUESSAN Hyacinthe Deputy Director in charge of Engineering, Project Management of PAA made a presentation of the assets of the port, namely the upgrading of the Fishing Terminal, the widening and the deepening of Vridi Canal, the construction of the second Container Terminal, the Roro Terminal and the Grain Terminal etc..
The Ethiopian State Minister, after having thanked the Port Authority for the reception, said that it was important for him to visit Abidjan port as regards its strategic role in the Ivorian economy.
Note that the Ethiopian delegation was accompanied by the Deputy Director of the Ivorian Prime Minister’s Office in charge of the private sector, Mr. BOLAMO Koffi Georges.
