ACTORS CONGRATULATE MINISTER AMADOU KONE FOR HIS WINNING REFORMS

The great family of the transport sector of Côte d'Ivoire met at the auditorium of the Caisse de Stabilization (CAISTAB) building in Abidjan-Plateau, on Tuesday 17 January 2023, as part of the traditional ceremony of presentation of wishes to the Minister in charge, Mr. Amadou KONE. 

On this occasion, all the actors were unanimous in recognizing the quality of the reforms undertaken by Minister Amadou KONE, whose merits and leadership at the head of this strategic ministerial department they were keen to salute.

In this vein, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, on behalf of the stakeholders of the maritime and port sector, first presented the Minister with his wishes for the New Year, then congratulated him for his constant support in the implementation of the modernization projects of the two Ivorian ports (Abidjan Port and San Pedro Port), with a view to boosting their competitiveness and thus enabling them to contribute more to the economic growth of Côte d’Ivoire.

In addition to the Managing Director of the PAA, other speakers also took the floor to wish the Minister well on behalf of their respective sectors. They were the Director of Human Resources of the Ministry of Transport, Mr. Vanly KANDÉ, the Director General of SODEXAM, Mr. Jean Louis MOULOT, spokesman for the air sector, the Director General of SITARAIL, Mr. Quentin GERARD, representing the rail sector, and the Director General of the High Council of the Employers' Association of Road Transport Companies in Côte d'Ivoire, Mr. Ibrahima DIABY.

Moreover, taking advantage of the opportunity of this ceremony, the operators of the transport sector presented their grievances to the Minister for the improvement of transport services.

After having, in his turn, given his collaborators and all the actors of his ministerial department his best wishes, Mr. Amadou KONE mentioned the future major projects of the sector. To this end, he announced the delivery of the Abidjan metro in 2026, the development of lagoon transport and the construction of the regional hub in the aviation sector.

As for the maritime and port sector, the Minister welcomed the completion of the construction of the second container terminal of the Abidjan Port and its putting into service on 2 December 2022.

This pleasant ceremony, marked by conviviality, through the performances of artists and the presentation of gifts to the Minister, ended with a cocktail.
