ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY HOSTED THE PMAWCA EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Abidjan port Authority was the host port, since Wednesday 16th November, of a special meeting of the extensive Executive Committee of the Port Management Association of West and Central Africa (PMAWCA). The meeting will be the occasion of port executive to think about the future of their association and the major projects whose implementation will contribute to the development of the various ports of this African region. During the opening Ceremony, Mr Hien Yacouba SIE, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority and President of the Association, said that he was pleased to welcome his peers from Cape Town, Gabon, Nigeria, Guinea, Mauritania and Ghana in order to “exchange on common interest subjects and to coordinate as much as possible initiatives and actions which aims at enabling African ports to meet the requirements of shippers and those of the respective national economies” Mr SORO Bakary, Head of Cabinet, representing Mr Gaoussou Toure, the Ivorian Minister of Transports, Chairman of the ceremony prior to officially opening the meeting, expressed his pleasure for this rewarding and fruitful gathering and stated that PMAWCA has the duty to be an exchange framework for the development and modernization of the ports in the sub region”
