A DELEGATION OF FRENCH COMPANIES SPECIALIZED IN SECURITY AND DEFENSE ON EXPLORATORY VISIT TO ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
On Wednesday 15 march 2023, Mr Hien Yacouba SIE exchanged with a delegation of 28 French Companies led by Mr Jean César LAMMERT, Director For Country in West Africa, Business France.
The delegation has been present in the Ivorian economic capital for several days as part of a security and defence mission piloted by “La Banque Publique d’Investissement Francaise( Bpi France)” in partnership with business France .
The visit which started at the Headquarters of Abidjan Port Authority was an opportunity for the French delegation to be better acquainted with Abidjan Port and particularity the upgrading projects implemented during the last decade as explained by Mr FALLY Gla Stephane Head of projects Department under the Direction of Engineering.
The delegation has also been able to make a more accurate assessment of the weight of Abidjan Port in the national economy, the evolution of its traffics its development prospects as well as the resources deployed by the Port Authority in terms of security and safety, the focus of the French visitors.
Prior to the presentation, the Managing Director which was surrounded by some sectorial Directors of Abidjan Port Authority welcomed this visit. In his statement, he underlined the historical links between Abidjan Port and France. As an example, he recalled the contribution of some French personalities such as Roger PELNARD-CONSIDER, Civil Engineer who has taken an active part in the excavation work of Vridi Canal and the implementation of the first development master plan.
Moreover, Mr Hien SIE reminded the existing close relationships between some French Companies and Abidjan Port Authority.
At the end of the exchanges, the French delegation toured the second Container Terminal, the RO-RO Terminal, the Fishing Terminal and the construction site of the Grain Terminal who’s inauguration is planned for the forthcoming weeks.
