A DELEGATION OF THE AFRICAN MARITIME PILOTS’ ASSOCIATION AT THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
On Tuesday 21 March 2023, Mr Hien Yacouba SIE, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority granted and audience to a delegation of the Africa Maritime Pilots’ Association (AMPA) led by its Chairman Commander Mohamed RAFOUK (Morocco).
The discussions dealt with the plan of AMPA to organize very shortly in Abidjan, the 3rd African Congress of Maritime Pilots.
The congress was meant for all the African pilots and the operators of the maritime and port industry on the theme of New Changes and Challenges in this sector of activity.
For that purpose, the Chairman of this umbrella association seeks the consent and support of Ivoirian Ports for the holding of this major international gathering.
The managing Director of PAA who was very pleased for the Choice of Cote d’Ivoire to host the conference of these players who are key elements in the maritime and port activities, reassured his guests for his interest in this event, but also in the missions of AMPA, which are fully in accordance with the objectives of PMAWCA with regard to cooperation between African Ports.
During the audience, the Port Authority had on his side, Colonel Emmanuel COFFI, Director of Maritime Operations and Security, Dr Titi PALE, Director of Marketing and Communication and Commander Soronan TOURE, Chief pilot of PAA.
The chairman of AMPA was accompanied by his Secretary General, Commander Oumar DRAME (Senegal), the Vice-Chairman Commander Ibrahima SYLLA (Chairman of the Maritime Pilots’ Association of Côte D’Ivoire) and Commander Jean Louis KRA (Secretary General of the Maritime Pilots’ Association of Côte D’Ivoire.)
Note that the African Maritime Pilots’ Association is a professional, Non-Profit Organization Originally created in Dakar, Senegal. It gathers currently 24 member Countries.
