BREADBOX SHIPPING LINES INTENDS TO STRENGTHEN ITS PRESENCE AT THE ABIDJAN PORT
The Chairman and CEO of Breadbox Shipping Lines, Mr. Joris BAKKER, accompanied by his Ivorian partners from Pro Shipping, was received in audience by the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, on Wednesday 24 May 2023.
According to Pro Shipping's CEO, Mr. Abbas BADREDDINE, the purpose of the meeting was to congratulate the Port Authority on the construction of a new grain terminal at the Abidjan Port, in addition to exchanging courtesies. According to him, this new infrastructure, which will increase the Abidjan Port's capacity to receive larger bulk carriers, will also provide more storage space for cereal products. With good reason, he affirmed the willingness of Breadbox and Pro Shipping to acquire space on this new infrastructure.
In the same vein, Mr. BAKKER pointed out that this terminal gives his shipping line the opportunity to increase the number of vessels chartered at the Abidjan Port. He announced that three new vessels would be added to the fleet already operating at the destination. This will reinforce the company's presence in Côte d'Ivoire's ports, especially Abidjan Port.
In his words, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ expressed his satisfaction with Breadbox Shipping's confidence in the Abidjan Port, reflected in its decision to consolidate its position there. Continuing, he emphasized that the infrastructure development projects carried out at the Abidjan Port in recent years are designed to attract as many economic operators as possible to Côte d'Ivoire, through more attractive logistics offers for both ship-owners and shippers.
With regard to the exploitation of the space available at the new Grain Terminal, the PAA’s Managing Director indicated that the Port Authority intends to collaborate with leading professionals, with a view to optimizing the creation of storage space to enable as many companies as possible to set up business.
