PROSPECTING MISSION: THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF CHEC RECEIVED AT PAA

As part of a prospecting mission and in order to seize business opportunities in Côte d’Ivoire, a delegation of the Chinese China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) led by its Director General, Mr BAI Yinzhan, met with Mr Hien Yacouba SIE, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority.

Mr Hien SIE seized the opportunity of the meeting to congratulate CHEC for the quality infrastructure works carried out on the Second Container Terminal (TC2) of Abidjan Port: “TC2 is something we take pride in. You have carried out quality work, our collaboration has been fruitful. We are willing to continue this collaboration”, the top executive of PAA stated, and went on to present the new investment opportunities including the building of a tunnel crossing the Vridi Canal. The project will make it possible to develop the 2500 hectares of land reserves located behind Vridi Canal up to Ile Boulay, then put them into operation and make them available to industries. In addition to this project there is the development of an industrial area in PK 24 on the “Autoroute du Nord”.

Mr Hien SIE encouraged CHEC Group to take an active part in the development of high added value projects.

As for the Director General of CHEC who was visiting Côte d’Ivoire for the first time, he welcomed the bilateral cooperation existing between China and Côte d’Ivoire. He said that he was willing to accompany Abidjan Port Authority in the implementation of new investments with a special interest in the tunnel construction project.

“Côte d’Ivoire is a gem on the West African Coast with a promising future. We are willing to take part in the development of this country” Mr BAI Yinzhan declared.
