A DELEGATION OF THE WORLD BANK RECEIVED IN AUDIENCE AT ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
On Tuesday 4th July 2023, Mr Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), received in audience a delegation of the World Bank including Mr. Alphonse SOW and Mr Idriss SIBAILLY, Project Manager in Transport and Senior Economist in Transport respectively. They mainly discussed about the state of road infrastructure in the outlying port area and about future logistic vision of the city, port interface.
As regards road infrastructure, Mr Hien SIE made an assessment with an emphasis on the future rehabilitation of the ‘’Boulevard du Port’’ road and other roads to be carried out by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Keen to ensure the best conditions for port operation, the PAA’s Managing Director also made a presentation of opportunities for upgrading roads and also the creation of alternative new exit roads in Abidjan Port.
As for the future logistic vision of the city- port interface, Mr Hien SIÉ disclosed to his guests some of the projects, among others, the crossing structure of Vridi Canal, the second Vridi Bridge, and the development of transport by barge and the creation of a logistic platform.
Mr Alphonse SOW, Head of the World Bank’s delegation reassured the top Executive of PAA about taking into account his concerns which will be submitted to study.
