Mr Jean-Luc ASSI, Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development called upon the Port Authority and industries set up within the port area to continue the efforts to comply with the environment standards. It was on 14 July 2023 during his visit to the Headquarters of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA).

On this occasion, he congratulated the Managing Director of PAA and his team as well as the Corporate Managers of the cement factories in the port area for the initiatives they have already taken, and encouraged them to pursue their efforts in this dynamic.

During the meeting, Mr Hien Yacouba SIÉ who recalled the environmental commitment of his institution with the ISO 14 001 Certification obtained since 2017, reassured the Minister about the effective enforcement of measures taken by the Ivorian Government for the preservation of the environment.

As a recall, the visit of the Minister in the Abidjan Port area was aimed at ensuring that cement factories comply with the government guidelines aiming at reducing pollution induced by the operation of these factories.
