ABIDJAN PORT’S RORO TERMINAL: SIGNING OF THE COMMERCIAL COMMISSIONING REPORT
After the signing of the minutes of the implementation of the Abidjan Port’s RORO Terminal on 06 July 2020, Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) the Concession Authority and Abidjan RORO Terminal (TERRA), the concession holder proceeded with the signing of the minutes of the commercial commissioning of this infrastructure.
For the occasion, both parties were respectively represented by their Managing Directors: Mr Hien Yacouba SIE (PAA) and Joël BROUX (TERRA). Before validating the document, Mr Hien SIE expressed his gratitude to TERRA Company for its commitment. Moreover, he ensured that the Commissionaire complies with the concession contract for a trusted partnership.
Mr Joël BROUX on his turn thanked the Port Authority and reaffirmed the commitment of his group to operate through this port facility and contribute to the development of Abidjan Port.
For the construction of this terminal which comprises 8 ha of open storage and 2 berths along 500 m quay with 14 m draught, Abidjan Port Authority invested 68 billion CFAF in total.
With such an important investment, Abidjan Port intends to position itself as the major logistic platform for the transit of rolling stock to landlocked countries of the West African sub region
For the record, since its entry into service in 2018, the Abidjan RORO Terminal handles 40,000 vehicles annually and records 160 ship calls per year. It has a handling capacity of 70 000 vehicles.
