REHABILITATION OF VRIDI BOULEVARD : COMMENCEMENT OF THE WORK, MONDAY/18 DECEMBER 2023

On 15 December 2023, at the Headquaters of Abidjan Port Authority (PAA)Mr Lionel ATINDEHOU Executive Director of the ATP Project,in Millenium Challenge Account ,Côte d’Ivoire ,announced the start of the rehabilitation works of Boulevard de Vridi.

The event took place during the gathering of Abidjan Port Community’s members together with leading representatives of the road transport sector in order to deal with port operation issue.During the 27 months required for work to be Completed.

During the exchanges presided over by Mr MONI Nguessan Hyacinthe ,Deputy Director of the Direction of Engineering and Project Management,Representing the Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority ,Mr Bertrand Emane NTYAM, Project Manager of RAZEL-BEC, contractor of the works made an illustraded presentation of the progress of work ,of the organisation in view of the start of works.The striking fact of this presentation is the provision of a parking space for 264 trucks built on an area of 4 hectares ,which will be operated by the Ivorian Shippers council ( OIC) .Another parking space with a capacity of 100 trucks will also be built for a period of 6 months.in order to expand the parking provision in Abidjan Port.

Speaking on behalf of the Port Authority ,Mr MONI Nguesan firstly thanked all the stakeholders for their presence and their commitment in the project and then,he invited all the others to comply with the safety instructions and particularly to comply with the traffic plan put in place in order to ensure that port and peri-port activities will continue during the work period.He called for ongoing communication between the different players for the smooth running of the project.

As a recall, the Ivorian Government and that of the United Stades of America,represented by Millennium Chalenge Corporation ( MCC) signed agreement for the funding of several infrastructure projects in Côte d’Ivoire including the upgrading project of Boulevard de vridi( Boulevard du Port).
