THE ABIDJAN PORT, A CHOICE STOPPING POINT FOR CRUISE SHIPS
The SH VEGA, flying the Maltese flag, made a one-day stopover at the Abidjan Port, yesterday, in the morning of Saturday 20 April 2024.
Coming from Takoradi in Ghana, the liner docked with 120 tourists on board, who were able to discover a number of tourist sites in and around the city of Abidjan, including Saint Paul's Cathedral in Plateau, the Craft Centre and the National Costume Museum in Grand-Bassam. The cruise passengers also visited the Banco forest and the Bingerville botanical garden for some walking tours.
This latest stopover by a cruise ship bears witness not only to Côte d'Ivoire's appeal as a tourist destination, but also to the quality of the facilities at the Abidjan Port.
The Port Authority is aware of the emergence of this type of traffic over the last two years, and is following its development with great interest, with a view to providing appropriate and sustainable solutions.
