THE DIRECTOR GENERAL OF FOREIGN TRADE RECEIVED IN AUDIENCE BY THE PORT AUTHORITY

The Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, granted an audience on Thursday 16 May 2024 to a delegation from the Côte d'Ivoire’s General Directorate for Foreign Trade, led by its top official, Mr. Kalilou SYLLA.

 As a maritime gateway of choice for foreign trade, the Abidjan Port attracted the attention of Mr. Kalilou SYLLA, who came to find out more about how it works, gather information on expectations and seek the experience and expertise of the Port Authority with a view to boosting our country's foreign trade.

The meeting was also an opportunity for the guest of Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ to affirm his determination to work towards strengthening relations with the various players involved in foreign trade, including the PAA.

Mr. Kalilou SYLLA reviewed the actions initiated by his institution with a view to tackling the problems of foreign trade. He stressed upon the Côte d’Ivoire’s Import-Export HUB, a framework for exchange and synergy launched in 2023 with the aim of mastering the requirements of foreign trade and aligning the training on offer with the needs of those involved. He took the opportunity to invite the PAA to take its rightful place at the 2024 event, which is currently being prepared.

Taking his turn to speak, Mr. Hien SIÉ said that his organisation agreed to support the Directorate for foreign trade in its policy of boosting foreign trade, all of which will enhance the competitiveness of the Abidjan Port and the attractiveness of Côte d'Ivoire as a destination for the development of Ivorian economy.
