THE TOP MANAGEMENT OF THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY IS CONTINUING ITS DIALOGUE WITH THE SNGTIVO.

Following the first meeting held on Wednesday 18 September 2024 between the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) and the SNGTIVO (Syndicat de la Nouvelle Génération des Transitaires et Importateurs de Véhicules d’Occasion de Côte d’Ivoire – New generation union of used vehicle forwarders and importers in Côte d'Ivoire), which resulted in a provisional suspension of Decision No. 278 DEESP/DAEESP/DSP/SCP/KKA of 5 September 2024 on the revision of port fee tariffs for certain goods, discussions continued on Wednesday 25 September 2024, at the PAA headquarters.

After thanking the Managing Director of the PAA, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, for the initiative of the ongoing consultation, the Secretary General of the SNGTIVO, Mr. N'GUESSAN Kouassi Narcisse, made a proposal on behalf of his union for a downward revision of the new tariffs subject to controversy.

After a few exchanges, the Port Authority promised to carefully analyze that proposal, and welcomed the conciliatory spirit in which the talks with SNGTIVO were taking place.

Note that another meeting was scheduled for Wednesday 02 October 2024.
