NATIONAL COTTON AND CASHEW PRODUCERS' DAYS: THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY SUPPORTS THE INITIATIVE
Organized by the Ministry of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production, through the Cotton and Cashew Council, the first edition of the National Cotton and Cashew Producers' Days (JNPCA) took place on Friday, January 17, and Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Abidjan Exhibition Park in Port-Bouët District.
As a committed corporate partner of this event, the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) set up a stand to showcase the performance and opportunities of the Abidjan port platform, the country's primary maritime gateway and a key player in the export of national agricultural production.
Under the central theme "Sustainably Enhancing the Potential of the Cotton and Cashew Sectors for Prosperous Producers," this first gathering of the sector stakeholders focused on promoting and recognizing the importance of these agricultural industries.
The opening ceremony took place on Friday, January 17, 2025, in the presence of the Vice President of the Republic, H.E. Tiémoko Meyliet KONÉ, the event’s High Patron. He was accompanied by the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production, Mr. Kobenan Kouassi ADJOUMANI, along with members of the government and several distinguished guests from both the public and private sectors.
The primary objective of JNPCA 2025 was to honor producers and promote cotton and cashew products.
The PAA’s participation in these days underscores the crucial role played by the Port of Abidjan in the logistics chain for exporting cashew and cotton. In 2023, the Port of Abidjan handled 1,078,375 tons of cashew nuts and 176,528 tons of cotton.
JNPCA 2025, which was a resounding success, concluded on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
