A DELEGATION FROM THE MINISTRY OF ANIMAL AND FISHERY RESOURCES RECEIVED BY THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY

On Friday, January 24, 2025, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), held discussions with a delegation from the Ministry of Animal and Fishery Resources (MIRAH), led by Mr. DIOMANDÉ Maxime, Coordinator of the Fisheries Monitoring, Control, and Surveillance Improvement Project (PRO-CSP).

The meeting was also attended by Mr. BOIXEL Yves Pierre Jean-Marie, a fisheries consultant for the World Bank.

The discussions were part of the World Bank’s PROBLUE initiative, a project aimed at promoting sustainable development in Côte d'Ivoire’s fishing and aquaculture sector. The objective was to identify weaknesses and implement appropriate actions that will foster the sustainable development of these two sub-sectors.

At the end of productive discussions, Mr. Hien SIÉ assured his guests of his full commitment, along with his teams, to working towards the achievement of the objectives of this important project.

It is worth noting that Abidjan Port, the leading tuna port in Africa, plays a crucial role in Côte d'Ivoire’s fishing value chain.
