INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL FAIR IN PARIS: THE FRENCH PRESIDENT OPENS THE 61ST EDITION
The 61st edition of the International Agricultural Fair in Paris (SIA) began on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The official opening was made by the President of the French Republic, H.E. Emmanuel MACRON, in the presence of several French and international dignitaries.
Côte d'Ivoire, a major agricultural nation, attends this event with the Ministry of State, the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production, the Ministry of Animal and Fisheries Resources, and the Ministry of Water and Forests.
As in previous editions, the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) is present at this event to highlight the crucial role of Abidjan Port in the logistics chain for exporting Ivorian agricultural products. This fair is also an excellent opportunity to showcase the advantages of Africa's leading tuna port. The PAA delegation is led by Mr. TOURÉ Djakaridja, Director of the Fishing Terminal.
On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production, Mr. Kobenan KOUASSI ADJOUMANI, who is leading the Ivorian delegation, visited the pavilion dedicated to Côte d'Ivoire, where an Ivorian Day is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2025. This special day will be marked by an inter-ministerial conference on the current challenges of food security and sovereignty in Côte d'Ivoire.
On this international stage, the Ivorian delegation, while presenting the country’s agricultural, fisheries, and forestry achievements, will also share its experience with other agricultural powers.
For this 2025 edition, Morocco is the country of honor, and the key themes focus on climate change adaptation (agrivoltaics, methanization, new drought-resistant crop varieties) and agricultural innovations (robotics, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence).
The event, ongoing until Sunday, March 2, 2025, offers visitors the opportunity to discover the richness of the agricultural world.
