ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY : APPOINTMENT OF A NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Board of Directors of the Abidjan Port Authority met on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in an extraordinary session to appoint its Chairman of the Board of Directors. At the conclusion of the proceedings, Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA was elected to this position, in a climate marked by broad consensus around his profile. He represents the President of the Republic, H.E. Alassane OUATTARA within the Board.

A seasoned professional in the port industry, Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA has extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the Abidjan Port Authority, an institution to which he devoted a significant part of his career. His involvement in the dynamics of development and performance in the port sector constitutes a major asset in the exercise of his new responsibilities.

His career is also marked by his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the Port Authority of San Pedro. In this position, he distinguished himself through the implementation of structuring reforms and governance focused on results, thereby consolidating his credibility and leadership within the national port ecosystem.

Through this appointment, the members of the Board of Directors have chosen an experienced personality, recognized for his commitment and ability to effectively support the strategic guidelines set by the highest authorities of the State.

Reacting to his appointment, Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA expressed his deep gratitude to H.E. Alassane OUATTARA for the renewed confidence placed in him. He recalled that the Head of State had already demonstrated this confidence by appointing him to head the Port Authority of San Pedro, an experience that proved decisive in his professional career. He also commended the strategic vision of the President of the Republic regarding the development of the Ivorian port sector.

The new Chairman of the Board of Directors, representing H.E. Alassane OUATTARA, President of the Republic, within the Board, also expressed his thanks to the Board members for the confidence placed in him. He reaffirmed his attachment to the Abidjan Port Authority as well as his willingness to work closely with the Executive Management and all stakeholders in order to strengthen the competitiveness and influence of the Abidjan port platform.

Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA succeeds the late Abdou TOURÉ, whose commitment and contribution to the development of the Abidjan Port Authority continue to be highly appreciated.
