2024 INTERNATIONAL SHOW OF COTTON(SITCOT) ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITIES SHOWED ITS POTENTIAL IN BUSINESS
Interport competition on the west African Coast gives,today,great flexibility as to maritine service to the landlocked countries,namely Burkina Faso.
Faced with this challenge,Abidjan Port undertook since a decade a deep transformation backed by an upgranding of its port infrastructure.
Equipped with a new modern and competitive platform with the building a second Container Terminal which now has a handling capacity to 2500000 TEUs,but also a new Grain Terminal capable to receive vessels carrying more than 50 000 tons of cargo,Abidjan port today is ready to serve the national and subregional economies.
Thus on the invitation of the Ministry of Commerce,Industry and Crafts of Burkina Faso, the Abidjan port Authority(PAA) took part from 26 to 27 January 2024,in the 3rd edition of the International show of Cotton (SITCOT).
The show was held in the town of Koudougou in Burkina Faso,under the patronage of the Head of State,President of the Transition,Captain Ibrahim TRAORE.The theme of the show being" local transformation of cotton : which industrialization model for Africa within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Area-SICOT-ç ? provided the opportunity to the Abidjan Port’s delegation to present the new service offer of PAA for the Burkinabe’s economy and particularly for the strategic sector of cotton."
As a recall,SITCOT is an essential platform which gathers 40000 actors and professionals of the entire value chain to exchange and reflect on concerns and development opportunities of the cotton textile industry.
