7th EDITION OF THE DAY OF THE TRADES OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT TRANSFORMATION. HIEN SIÉ ALONGSIDE SMALL MANUFACTURERS

The 7th edition of the Day of the Trades of agricultural product transformation (JMT) opened its doors on 10 November 2022, in the premises of the Centre of Demonstration and Promotion of Technologies (CDT) located in Abidjan-Biétry, in the presence of the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA and Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority and sponsor of this edition.

In his opening speech, Mr. Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, invited the promoters of SMEs, mainly small processing units, to protect their know-how. He told them that this requires administrative procedures with the competent structures, so that their inventions and innovations remain their property. This is the condition, he said, to avoid piracy of their works.

The Minister also encouraged the actors of the national network of agro-processors of Côte d'Ivoire to contribute to the strengthening of the Ivorian industrial base. He did not fail to recall that to achieve the industrial emergence, Côte d'Ivoire aims to transform locally at least 50% of its agricultural production before 2030.

Before him, the sponsor of the ceremony, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ expressed his admiration to the leaders of the CDT for their contribution to innovation in the sector of local processing of agricultural products, pledge of a strong and industrialized Ivorian economy.

This 7th edition of the promotional days dedicated to the processing of local agricultural products will also be an opportunity to reflect on the theme "The Quality Approach for the Small agro-industry", through panels and meetings.
