THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY DONATES SCHOOL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES TO THE MODERN SECONDARY SCHOOL IN THE CITÉ DU PORT
The Top Management of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) is committed to supporting excellence in education, alongside the Ivorian government, as part of its CSR policy.
As part of this commitment, the PAA has donated a large consignment of school supplies and other equipment to the Collège Moderne de la Cité du Port. The donation was made at a ceremony held on Monday 30 October 2023 at the said school.
Mr. TIÉMOKO Chérif, Director of Purchasing and Stock Management, representing the Managing Director of the PAA, handed over the equipment on his behalf to Mrs. Marie Dominique NIOULÉ, Principal of the school, who was surrounded by the teaching staff, supervisors and pupils. Valued at more than 4 million CFA francs, the donation of teaching, learning, IT and maintenance equipment will help improve the living and working conditions of pupils and supervisory staff.
After receiving the donation, Mrs. NIOULÉ expressed her gratitude to the port authority for this beneficial action. "This donation will help improve the working conditions of the pupils and will have a positive impact on their school results," she said. Above all, she encouraged the PAA to continue this kind of action, in response to the call from Prof. Mariétou KONÉ, Minister of National Education and Literacy, for a greater commitment from all public and private players to support Ivorian schools.
The PAA's support for the Ivorian education system takes the form of various initiatives, including financial support of 25 million CFA francs a year to the Société Mathématiques de Côte d'Ivoire (SMCI) for the organisation of the prestigious "Miss Mathematics" competition.
