ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY HONORED AT THE 9th ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE BORDERLESS ALLIANCE

The 9th Annual Conference of the BORDERLESS Alliance was held in Abidjan, on 5 and 6 May 2022, under the theme, Accelerating Regional Economic Integration in West Africa through Digitalization.

The main objective of this theme is to facilitate the digital transformation of all procedures in force in cross-border trade. At the end of the conference, strong recommendations were made regarding the improvement of transit trade, the dematerialization of port procedures and the acceleration of digital transformation to promote trade in a context of health crisis.

During the opening ceremony, several individuals and corporate bodies were honored for their significant contributions to BORDERLESS Alliance projects. Among the recipients was the Abidjan Port Authority, which received a special sponsorship award and an award of excellence for its major role in African integration and the development of cross-border trade.

As a platform for high-level public-private dialogue and advocacy, this conference brings together the various stakeholders to discuss issues related to trade and transport facilitation for a better economic integration in West Africa.

The BORDERLESS alliance is a private law association created in 2011 under the impetus of USAID and has 78 members, including the Abidjan Port Authority, which sits on the executive committee and also holds the position of Vice-Chairman of the Côte d'Ivoire national committee.
