THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY REITERATES ITS COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT THE IVORIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION

Mr. Hien SIÉ, Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) received in audience, this Tuesday 11 October 2022, a delegation of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) led by its president, Mr. Yacine Idriss DIALLO.

At the beginning of the exchanges, Mr. DIALLO recalled that the PAA, a corporate citizen, has always been an important and strategic partner of the federation. He therefore thanked the Port Authority for this constant support to Ivorian football. 

The Ivorian Football Federation is in charge of organizing the next African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2023, which will take place in January 2024 on Ivorian soil.

According to the president of FIF, the mission of his institution goes beyond the promotion of football to the mobilization of youth and contribute effectively to providing sustainable solutions to the ills that plague this segment of the Ivorian population.

To this end, the FIF initiates and supports young people in the implementation of sustainable projects. It has also, in addition to match bonuses, instituted a Guaranteed Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMIG) for Ivorian football players in order to improve their living conditions.

In addition, to give more visibility to Ivorian football, the federation has signed a tripartite agreement with the Canal+ group and the Radiodiffusion Télévision Ivoirienne (RTI) for the broadcasting of the various national championship matches.

Finally, it has set up a program to revive amateur football activities in all regions of Côte d'Ivoire.

As all these initiatives require significant investments, President Idriss DIALLO and his team came to solicit, once again, the support of an essential partner that is PAA.

The Managing Director of PAA while recalling the long-standing relationship between FIF and PAA, thanked Mr. DIALLO for his great ambition and enthusiasm for the benefit of football in particular and Ivorian youth in general.

He also reaffirmed the availability of his institution to always be at the FIF's side. "We are ready to accompany you through the annual convention that binds us, and much more," he concluded.
