THE ABIDJAN PORT HOSTS TRAINEES FROM THE 8TH STAFF COURSE OF THE NATIONAL GENDARMERIE

As part of their practical training, a delegation of twenty trainee officers from the 8th Staff Course of the National Gendarmerie conducted an immersion visit to the Abidjan Port on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

This educational mission, part of a strategic professional development program, brought together officers from several African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Congo-Brazzaville, Guinea, the Central African Republic, and Senegal. Led by Colonel NOUKO Gweny Ange, Director of the Gendarmerie’s Continuing Officer Training Center and head of the 8th Staff Course, the delegation was welcomed by Dr. Titi PALÉ, Director of Sales, Marketing, and Communication at the Abidjan Port, representing Managing Director Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ.

Also present were Lieutenant Colonel Serges LATTE, Head of the Security Department at the Directorate of Maritime Operations, Security and Environment, and Mr. Thibaut DANHIN, Head of Marine Infrastructure at the Directorate of Engineering and Project Management.

The visit offered a valuable opportunity for exchange and knowledge-sharing on the major issues surrounding port operations. The trainees were able to gain insight into the overall operations of the Abidjan Port, particularly in the areas of maritime security, logistics, infrastructure management, and interagency cooperation. This immersive experience — enriched with technical presentations and targeted discussions — reflects a shared commitment to strengthening ties between defense forces and port stakeholders, in pursuit of regional security and sustainable development.
