In order to see to the respect of the highway code and decrease traffic incidents, the Ivorian Government introduced several measures. The measures included video surveillance which has entered into force since Tuesday 07th September 2021 after a large scale sensitization period which lasted 06 months. To this end, Mr. Amadou KONE Minister of Transport held press conference on Monday 06th September 2021 at ‘’ Hotel Azalai d’Abidjan-Marcory’’ in order to announce the official launching of the traffic video surveillance.

During the conference, the Minister indicated that the video surveillance is a smart transport system which aims at improving traffic safety and fight against irresponsibility on the roads.

Note that Mrs. OKOU COULIBALY Djeneba GON, Deputy Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority, a citizen company, represented the Minister of Transport at this gathering.
