HEM. Jeroen KELDERHUIS, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Côte d'Ivoire, paid a courtesy visit on Tuesday 23 April 2024 to the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ.

The Dutch diplomat took the opportunity to praise the dynamic trade relations between the two countries, particularly in terms of cocoa exports, while Mr. Hien SIÉ underlined the excellent quality of the partnership between the PAA and the Port of Amsterdam, particularly in terms of support for the development of master plans for the Abidjan Port.

The Managing Director of the PAA also took the opportunity of these discussions to present the future projects being carried out by the Port Authority and to ask for the Netherlands' partnership in their implementation. These include the construction of a tunnel to cross the Vridi Canal and the building of new roads to improve port services and relieve congestion in the city of Abidjan.

At the end of the meeting, HEM. Jeroen KELDERHUIS, who undertook to become personally involved in the successful completion of the projects underway with the port of Amsterdam, announced that the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation would be coming to Côte d'Ivoire next May.
