CAUCUS OF WOMEN FOR PEACE" INVITES THE PORT AUTHORITY TO PARTICIPATE IN A CELEBRATION FOR PEACE IN CÔTE D’IVOIRE

On Thursday, December 12, 2024, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority, welcomed a delegation from the "Caucus of Women for Peace" at the institution's headquarters. The delegation was led by the Honorable Mariam TRAORÉ, Member of Parliament for Tengrela.

These women, drawn from different political parties and sectors, and dedicated to promoting peace and coexistence, officially informed the Port Authority about a ceremony for peace and social cohesion scheduled for Saturday, December 21, 2024.

The Honorable Mariam TRAORÉ, chairperson of the event’s organizing committee, emphasized the importance of this grand gathering of women in Côte d’Ivoire, committed to preserving peace and social harmony, essential pillars of sustainable development. She stressed that, with the presidential elections just months away, it is crucial to urge all political actors to embrace a path of peace and unity.
"We, the women of Côte d’Ivoire, want to speak of peace and social cohesion. We are women from all political sides, united to say no to conflict and yes to lasting peace in our country," she stated.

The MP for Tengrela also noted that the event would serve as an opportunity to thank and commend President Alassane OUATTARA for his actions in favor of peace in Côte d’Ivoire.

In conclusion, she invited the women of the Abidjan Port Authority to participate massively in this celebration.

Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ praised the initiative and pledged his support to help women promote peace for the harmonious development of Côte d’Ivoire.
