CELEBRATION OF THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF ENSTP/ESTP: ABIDJAN PORT PARTICIPATES IN THE FESTIVITIES
Côte d’Ivoire marked the 60th anniversary of the National Higher School of Public Works (ENSTP), now known as the Higher School of Public Works (ESTP).
This prestigious institution, part of the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Polytechnic Institute (INPHB) in Yamoussoukro, has, since its founding in 1963, trained engineers and technicians responsible for implementing numerous structural projects in Côte d’Ivoire and the sub-region.
The Abidjan Port Authority was represented at this celebration by its Managing Director, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, an alumnus of this esteemed institution.
During the official ceremony on December 7, 2024, the Ivorian Prime Minister Mr. Robert Beugré MAMBÉ, also an alumnus of ESTP, called for the creation of a Foundation for Alumni of ESTP to fund scholarships, research projects, academic programs, and the acquisition of teaching equipment.
This foundation will, according to him, fund scholarships, research projects, academic programs, as well as provide supplies and teaching equipment. It will also aim to promote academic and professional excellence while supporting social initiatives and enhancing the reputation of the INPHB.
During the official ceremony marking this anniversary, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Adama Diawara, expressed his profound gratitude to this institution, describing it as a "symbol of achievement and success." He recalled that ENSTP/ESTP has produced over 3,000 graduates, who are at the forefront of major projects shaping the modernization of Côte d’Ivoire, including the construction and renovation of key infrastructures such as Ivorian ports, Abidjan’s bridges, the Northern Highway, and coastal roads.
To conclude, Minister Adama Diawara and Prime Minister Beugré MAMBÉ extended their congratulations to the current executives of ESTP, as well as the administrative and teaching staff. They all praised the pivotal role this school has played in training competent and committed professionals who serve Côte d’Ivoire and the West African sub-region.
As ENSTP/ESTP celebrates its 60th anniversary, this milestone highlights the importance of preserving its legacy and perpetuating the values of rigor, competence, and commitment instilled by its founding father, Félix Houphouët-Boigny.
