CELEBRATION OF THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF ABIDJAN PORT: THE MANAGING DIRECTOR ANNOUNCES THE EVENT TO THE STAFF
On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, during a meeting at the company's headquarters, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, officially announced to the staff the celebration of the 75th anniversary Abidjan Port, a major milestone in the history of this strategic infrastructure for the national economy.
This announcement marks the beginning of a year-long celebration, commemorating three-quarters of a century of history, challenges, and growth, providing Côte d’Ivoire with a modern port ranking among the most competitive in Africa today.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for the Managing Director to present a brief overview of the significant achievements recorded between 2012 and 2024 and to congratulate each of his employees for their individual and collective contributions to the recognized and acclaimed progress at both national and international levels.
He then encouraged them to maintain this momentum through discipline and commitment to work, not only to consolidate and improve these positive results but also to address the future development challenges of the leading port in West Africa.
Mr. Hien SIÉ also took the opportunity to highlight the remarkable growth in port traffic, which reached 40 million tons in 2024, compared to 34.7 million in 2023.
Before concluding the meeting, he urged each employee to actively participate in organizing the festivities marking the 75th anniversary of Abidjan Port, ensuring that the success of this grand event is a collective achievement.
