THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE IVORIAN REFINING COMPANY VISITS THE ABIDJAN PORT
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the Ivorian Refining Company (SIR), General Soumaïla BAKAYOKO, was received by the Director General of the Abidjan Port (PAA), Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ.
Accompanied by a delegation from the cell in charge of evaluating the security level of Ivorian companies, under the Ministry of State, Ministry of Defense, General Soumaïla BAKAYOKO carried out this visit as part of monitoring the protection systems of the country’s strategic infrastructures.
The discussions made it possible to review the PAA’s initiatives in terms of port security and safety, to identify current challenges, and to discuss areas for improvement. On this occasion, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ praised the government’s constant efforts to strengthen the security of vital facilities for the national economy.
Through a detailed presentation made by the Commander of the Abidjan Port, Colonel YAO COFFI Emmanuel, the delegation was able to understand the operational systems put in place to protect the activities and infrastructures of the Abidjan Port.
Certified since July 2004 under the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, the Abidjan Port meets international standards in terms of prevention and protection against terrorism, piracy, and other maritime threats.
This visit illustrates the joint commitment of the national authorities and the Abidjan Port to maintaining a high level of security, thus ensuring the protection of a strategic link in the Ivorian and West African economy.
