A CONSORTIUM OF TURKISH COMPANIES INTENDS TO SET UP IN ABIDJAN PORT
On Thursday 16 March 2023, a delegation of EMERK GROUP, a consortium of Turkish companies led by Mr Orham KAPLAN was granted an audience by Colonel COFFI Emmanuel, Harbour Master of the Port, representing Mr Hien Yacouba SIE Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority.
The Turkish delegation came to Côte D’Ivoire as part of an economic exploratory visit aiming at identifying sectors with growth potential so as to make investments.
Abidjan Port being an area of promising economic activities, it is appropriate, according to Mr KAPLAN, to meet the Top Management of PAA in order to get acquainted with the competitive assets of this port platform, and also to collect useful information on the procedures required for the setting up of companies, particularly companies for Cocoa processing and exploitation of ores in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Head of the Turkish delegation has expressed the great interest of his group for the financing of potential upgrading projects of the Port.
In his statement Colonel COFFI expressed his appreciation and thanked the Turkish delegation for their interest in Abidjan Port.
He assured them that Abidjan Port is endowed with the relevant infrastructure, equipment and expertise to meet their requirements efficiently.
To this end, he made a presentation of the existing development projects in Abidjan Port requiring some investment, and therefore urged them to contact the PAA’S relevant departments to get more information on investment opportunities.
The Turkish delegation was accompanied to this audience by Mr KONE Zana Amadou, First Secretary of the Embassy of Cote d’Ivoire to Turkey.
