DANGOTE GROUP AFRICA DIRECTOR PAYS A COURTESY VISIT TO THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
On Monday, August 10, 2026, the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), Mr. Kassoum TRAORE, received Mr. ONYEKACHI ONUBOGU, Dangote Group’s Africa Director outside Nigeria, at the Port Authority’s headquarters during a courtesy visit to the Abidjan Port Authority.
The meeting with the head of the Abidjan Port Authority was part of efforts to strengthen relations and exchange views on prospects for developing the Group’s activities in Côte d’Ivoire, as well as opportunities arising from the country’s economic and port environment.
During the discussions, Dangote Group’s Africa Director outside Nigeria presented the main outlines of the Nigerian 2030 conglomerate’s Vision. This roadmap aims to position the Group as a leading economic player on the international stage.
Beyond its established activities in the cement sector, Dangote Group intends to continue diversifying its operations and strengthening its presence in the Ivorian market. The Group is notably active in strategic sectors such as refining, fertilizers and sugar, all of which offer significant opportunities for African economies.
According to its representative, this diversification opens up significant prospects for cooperation and investment across several key sectors of the Ivorian economy.
Mr. ONYEKACHI ONUBOGU further emphasized that Côte d’Ivoire is a high-potential market, owing to its economic dynamism, its pivotal position in the subregion and its port infrastructure, which plays a key role in facilitating trade.
For the Managing Director of the Abidjan Port Authority, the visit provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen relations with a major industrial group on the continent and explore new avenues for cooperation.
He welcomed Dangote Group’s initiative and reaffirmed the Abidjan Port Authority’s readiness to support economic and industrial operators in their development projects.
Through this visit, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a constructive dialogue framework conducive to the development of trade, investment and new economic opportunities, against the backdrop of Dangote Group’s growth ambitions in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Dangote Group delegation included several senior executives, notably Mr. Serge GBOTTA, Managing Director of Dangote Group Côte d’Ivoire, as well as several sector directors.
