END OF THE 8th EDITION OF COCOA CHOCOLATE NATIONAL DAYS
After its opening on 30 September 2022 at “Heden Golf Hotel d’Abidjan-Cocody”, the 8th Edition of National Coffee-Chocolate Days (JNCC) was closed on Sunday 02 October 2022.
The official closing ceremony was presided by Mr Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Promotion of SMEs, representing the Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The 2022 JNCC which were organized by the Coffee Cocoa Board (CCB) were the opportunity for many visitors to discover the Ivorian cocoa and its various by-products. Following the evaluation carried out by Mr Kouassi KONAN,Deputy chairman of the organizing committee, nearly 22 000 visitors toured the stands to discover the potential of the artisans who value cocoa through local processing.
Several panels of experts were formed for three days to discuss about the theme of this 8th Edition entitled “Local processing of Cocoa Opportunities for Chocolate artisans”.
During his address, the Minister Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA welcomed the good organization of JNCC which fit in the vision of His Excellency Mr Alassane OUATTARA, President of the Republic aiming at making Côte d’Ivoire an industrialized country. According to him, It is an excellent platform which fosters communion between the Government and the producers. He underlined that “the producers are a priority for the Head of State, His Excellency Mr Alassane OUATTARA “.
Moreover, the Minister declared that the Government will provide support to the young artisans in the development of their activities through financial assistance so as to add more value and create more jobs.
As regards the Industrialists, Mr Souleymane DIARRASSOUBA gave them the assurance that the government took; some measures to support them in the export of their products.
Note that Abidjan Port Authority was present during these three days to inform visitors on its strategic role in the processing chain of cocoa. The Port also participated in the football tournament named ‘’Maracana’’which took place on Saturday 1st October 2022 at the Stadium ‘’Stade de l’Université HOUPHOUET-BOIGNY de Cocody’’ as a side event of these days.
