GRIMALDI CÔTE D’IVOIRE HAS A NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR
On 13 October 2023, Colonel KOFFI Emmanuel Harbour Master, representing the Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority, together with other Sectoral Directors received a delegation of Grimaldi Côte d’Ivoire led by Mr Guiseppe PATANÈ (CEO) in office in Naples, Italy, on visit to Abidjan Port. According to the Head of delegation, the visit was aimed at maintaining and reinforcing the collaboration of this major shipowner and the executives of Abidjan Port but also to introduce the new Managing Director of Grimaldi Côte d’Ivoire.
As matter of fact, after 11 years in office in Côte d’Ivoire marked by a frank, intense and fruitful collaboration with the stakeholders of the Abidjan Port platform, which led to an increase in Grimaldi ships calls in Abidjan Port, Mr François PERRY, Managing Director of Grimaldi Côte d’Ivoire vacates his chair to his colleague Mr Vincent GRIMLER from Cameroon (Port of KRIBI). Mr PERRY is to take up new functions in Senegal at Dakar Port as from the coming November. He expressed his gratitude to the Port Authority for having facilitated Grimaldi’s operations in Abidjan Port. He looked forward to continued collaboration with his successor.
Mr GRIMLER, the new Head of Grimaldi Côte d’Ivoire, thanked Grimaldi Group for the opportunity provided and expressed his willingness to continue the existing relationships between his group and Abidjan Port. Being part of this approach, Mr Guiseppe PATANÈ from Grimaldi stated that the collaboration will be maintained with the new Managing Director.
As regards operations of his Group in Côte d’Ivoire, he announced that Grimaldi will increase its presence in Abidjan Port with the chartering of the latest generation of vessels (5th generation) and will intensify trade between Europe and Abidjan, particularly regarding RO-RO traffic.
In this prospect, a third Grimaldi vessel bearing an Ivorian name will soon dock at Abidjan Port to mark the attachment of the shipping line to the Port.
Having listened all these good news, Colonel KOFFI representing Mr Hien Yacouba SIÉ welcomed the continued increase in Grimaldi’s operations at Abidjan Port.
He gave the assurance of the large reception capacity of the modernized Abidjan Port platform including all the development projects that are completed He took advantage of the occasion to present future Abidjan Port’s projects.
Lastly in his talks with the Managers of Grimaldi, he wished Mr. PERRY every success in his new duties and ‘‘AKWABA’’ to welcome M. GRIMLER according to the traditions.
