INTERPORT COOPERATION THE PORT COMMUNITY OF SENEGAL ON VISIT TO ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
A large délégation of Sénégal’s Port Community ( CAP Sénégal) led by its Chairman, Mr Baba Tall, was granted an audience on Friday 15 september 2023 by Mr Hien Yacouba SIE ,Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority and also Chairman of Abidjan Port Community.
According to Baba TALL, the visit of the delegation to Abidjan within the framework of a benchmarking with the National Union of Freight Forwarders (SYNATRANS-CI) provided the opportunity to present their compliments to the Abidjan Port Authority.
The head of the Senegalese mission stated that Dakar Port is engaged in a digitalisation of its Operation.
To this end, the creation of a single window is on the way.In this prospect ,and within the framework of the existing cooperation among West African Ports, the delegation felt the need to come to Abidjan to get acquainted with the experience of Abidjan Port as regards port single window and the dynamics and the PAA’s achievements.
Mr Baba TALL also announced that, very shortly ,there will be a visit to Côte d’Ivoire of several members of CAP Sénégal. As a response to his guests, Mr Hien Yacouba SIE, first of all, said that he was pleased to welcome the sister port community of Sénégal .Then , he made a presentation of the achievements of the Ivorian single port window before expressing his willingness to share experiences in order to enhance the performances of African ports in a context of subregional cooperation.
Let’s note that the Port Community of Sénégal established in 1994, is an association which aims at promoting competitiveness among stake holders of the country’s port places.
