IVOIRIAN DAY AT SIA 2025: CÔTE D’IVOIRE SHOWCASES ITS AGRICULTURAL, FISHERIES, AND FORESTRY PROGRESS IN PARIS
During the 61st edition of the International Agricultural Fair in Paris (SIA) 2025, held from February 22 to March 2, 2025, Côte d'Ivoire was honored on Thursday, February 27, with a dedicated national day.
One of the highlights of this special day was the ministerial conference on the theme: "Ivorian Agriculture, Today and Tomorrow," attended by the ministers leading the Ivorian delegation, including Mr. Kobenan Kouassi ADJOUMANI, Minister of State, Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Production; Mr. Sidi Tiémoko TOURÉ, Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources; and Mr. Laurent TCHAGBA, Minister of Water and Forests. The Abidjan Port Authority (PAA) was represented by Mr. TOURÉ Djakaridja, Director of the Fishing Terminal.
A Conference to Showcase Initiatives and Attract Investors
Held at Pavilion 1, Room 121 CFDE at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, this discussion allowed the ministers to present the Ivorian government's initiatives aimed at transforming the agricultural, fisheries, and forestry sectors and strengthening the country’s food sovereignty. The discussions particularly focused on transitioning to sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture, a major challenge for Côte d'Ivoire.
This high-level conference attracted numerous investors and development partners, with the goal of increasing the presence of "Made in Côte d'Ivoire" products on the international market. The event brought together key figures, including the mission officer at the Ivorian Embassy in France, representing Ambassador Maurice KACOU BANDAMA, Mrs. BAKAYOKO-Ly Ramata, Côte d'Ivoire’s permanent delegate to UNESCO, as well as investors and officials from the Ivorian agricultural administration.
On the sidelines of SIA 2025, the Abidjan Port Authority delegation was received by Ivorian ministers. During these discussions, Mr. TOURÉ Djakaridja took the opportunity to pay his respects to government officials and reaffirm the commitment of PAA’s Managing Director, Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, to supporting the agricultural, fisheries, and forestry sectors through the infrastructure and services of Abidjan Port.
He also emphasized that the Abidjan port platform, the country’s primary maritime gateway, has modern and efficient infrastructure capable of effectively handling all trade flows related to these strategic sectors.
Through these initiatives, Côte d'Ivoire reaffirms its position as a leader in West Africa’s agricultural and maritime sectors and continues to enhance its competitiveness on the global market.
