LAUNCHING OF A DIALOGUE BETWEEN ACTORS FOR PEACE BUILDING IN THE IVORIAN PORTS

Against the background of social dialogue initiated by the Ivorian government, the Minister of Transport represented by its Cabinet Director Mr CONÉ Dioman officially launched on Thursday 27 June 2024 in the premises of Abidjan Port Authority, the initiative in the two Ivorian Ports through consultations among the major actors of this strategic sector of the national economy.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Hr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority and his counterpart Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA, Managing Director of San Pedro Port Authority, some members of Port communities and Heads of Dock Workers Unions of both ports.

In his introductory speech Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ recalled that the development of the Ivorian Port sectors since 2012 has been carried out through a peaceful social climate which needs to be preserved by taking into account the concerns of the different stakeholders.

He was followed by the representative of the Minister of Transport who announced for July 2024, the holding of a seminar on the theme: << Social peace building in the Ivorian Ports >>  .For this purpose he invited all the stakeholders to get actively involved to ensure the success of this important seminar, the conclusions of which are expected by the highest authorities of the country, who attach special interest to it.
