THE MANAGING DIRECTOR ANNOUNCES THE OPENING OF THE PRIZE FOR EXCELLENCE FOR THE BEST WORKER AT THE ABIDJAN PORT AUTHORITY
Mr. Hien Yacouba SIÉ, Managing Director of Abidjan Port Authority (PAA), announced officially the reactivation of the prize of excellence for the best worker of PAA, in the presence of sector directors, union leaders, staff associations and workers of the PAA, during a ceremony at the Seamen's Club in Treichville, on Friday 07 June 2024
Prior to the announcement of the launch, the Director of Human Resources, Mrs. MÉÏTÉ Salimata FOFANA, explained the reason why that award, which would be held for the second time after 2014 called "Port Day", had been extended beyond PAA agents, to economic operators in the port sector
For her, the reactivation of the prize, reserved exclusively for PAA staff, was intended to unite the efforts to achieve the company's objectives, while recognising their hard work. In short, the initiative aimed to promote excellence as advocated by the government of Côte d'Ivoire.
She was followed by the Director of Control, Audit and Quality, Mr. ASSI Achi Magloire who presented the prize through the committees that would oversee it (Committee for the pre-selection of nominees and the selection of winners), the various selection criteria and the schedule of activities.
It should be noted that this year, the best-performing workers between 2022 and 2023 will be in the running. It is now understood that this prize will be institutionalised in order to enable PAA employees to draw inspiration from the example of the nominees and other winners in order to redouble their efforts in their work and hope someday to become the best PAA workers.
It was to that exhortation that the Chairman of the Staff Representatives, Mr. Serge KIMOU, called on all his colleagues to get actively involved. He welcomed management's initiative, which aims to motivate employees to be more self-sacrificing and relentless in their work, which will ultimately contribute to boosting the company's performance.
The Managing Director called on the social partners to get involved in disseminating the information received on the launch of the prize to all employees so as to be all at the same level of information. He indicated, however, that a communication was planned with a view to making the selection criteria widely known.
